Pirates: Battle for Caribbean v1.00 WinXP/Vista
Pirates: Battle for Caribbean is a 3D action shooter where you attack enemy ships, earn gold, upgrade your fort & buy new weapons. It features 2 campaigns (British & Pirate), 30 missions, Survival mode, lots of weapons & power-ups, a choice of 22 screen sizes & resolutions (including widescreen & 16- or 32-bit), good 3D graphics & sound, and more. This is an excellent game where you must destroy the ships either passing by or attacking your fort. You do this with the mouse by clicking on where the cannonball will land, allowing for the movement of the ship. You can change the 3D view with the arrow keys, going from a top-down view to a 3/4 side view, rotating the screen around so you can view the scene from any angle. At the completion of each mission you receive a cash bonus which allows you to upgrade your fort's defenses, your guns, or even lay a few mines around the fort to catch the ships unawares. Pirates: Battle for Caribbean is a great game with a high addictive aspect it will bring you back for more and more. We loved! Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95, 98 or ME. Access this 8.58MB download from: WinXP General Games
X2X Free Video Capture v1.0 Win9x/ME/XP/Vista
X2X Free Video Capture is a video player that captures snapshots of the currently playing video and saves them as BMP or JPG images. It features 3 types of capture (standard, quick or advanced), the advanced capture takes a snapshot every X number of frames (default is 10), every X number of seconds (default is 1), a total of X number of frames (default is 10), or every frame, and more. Anyone who has tried to extract a snapshot from a video playing through most software will realize just how hard, often impossible, it is. Not so with X2X Free Video Capture. You get an excellent video player that supports virtually all popular formats (including FLV, WMV, AVI. MOV, MPG, DVD, etc), though not SWF. The snapshots are taken while the movie is playing and can be seamless. Quality is dependent on the original footage, but is generally very good. If you want to extract snapshots from video movies, even DVDs, then X2X Free Video capture is for you. Grab a copy now! Access this 3.90MB download from: Win95 Graphic Programs
SafeFox v3.5.2 WinXP/Vista
SafeFox is a safer Firefox-based Web browser. It features an on-screen keyboard for safely inputting passwords (hotkey enabled), includes a safe bank list to avoid phishing problems with look-alike bank sites (hotkey enabled), can be used side-by-side with Firefox, can be run from USB pen drive, and more. This is a Firefox Web browser with some additions to improve security. It does this by the addition of an optional on-screen keyboard that defeats most keylogging programs (these record your keystrokes and transmits them to a third party who can then access your accounts). We are a little unsure of SafeFox, simply because the download size for this version is about 3MB smaller than the FireFox browser it is based on. We wonder what has been dropped from this version... SafeFox follows the same version number as FireFox so you know which version you are getting. If you are worried by the thought of a keylogger grabbing your password information then SafeFox could be exactly what you need. Try it for yourself now. Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95, 98 or ME. Access this 6.96MB download from: WinXP Internet Related
RocketDock v1.3.5 WinXP/Vista
RocketDock is an animated program launcher. It minimizes windows to the dock, offers real-time window previews in Vista, has running application indicators, a drag 'n drop interface, multi-monitor support, supports alpha-blended PNG & ICO icons, icons zoom & transition smoothly, auto-hide & popup on mouseover, positioning & layering options, fully customizable, completely portable, and more. This is a fabulous program launcher that has the added advantage of minimizing all open windows to the dock. You can drag 'n drop programs onto the dock, rearrange their order, reposition the dock or change its appearance (there are 30 skins provided with the program, plus more you can download). Using the default settings, when you place the cursor over the icon of the program you want to load it becomes highlighting by becoming larger, dragging the icons around it so that they, too, are larger than normal. The effect is superb with a rolling transitional appearance that enhances the eye candy aspect of RocketDock. It can also be hidden so that the dock only appears when the cursor is placed over it. One of the neat aspects of RocketDock is its ability to minimize all open programs to the dock. There are also optional indicators to show if a program in the dock is currently open on the desktop. RocketDock is more than simply eye candy, it is a practical button-bar program launcher to make your oft-used programs quickly accessible. With lots of customization options, and the ability to add or subtract icons quickly (to remove an icon simply drag it off the dock), RocketDock is an awesome tool and a valuable asset for all PC users. We loved! Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95, 98 or ME. Access this 6.16MB download from: WinXP Desktop Utilities
Mobile Media Converter v1.4.3 Win98/ME/XP/Vista
Mobile Media Converter is a video & audio converter that uses FFmpeg to convert between popular desktop formats. It includes a YouTube downloader, and supports MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, MPEG, AVI, WMV, FLV, AMR, plus 3GP & MP4 mobile video formats. Mobile Media Converter is an example of the expression "you cannot judge a book by its cover". Lacking almost any style or eye candy, this utilitarian converter just goes about its business of converting your multimedia files from one format to another, without fuss, without problem. As well, it includes a YouTube downloader so you can grab those FLV files from YouTube and save them to your desktop, converting them to another format if you desire, or even ripping the audio from them. If you are looking for a multimedia file converter then Mobile Media Converter should be near the top of your list. In a word... excellent! Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95. Access this 3.77MB download from: Win98 Multimedia Programs

SLang v2.3.1 Win98/ME/XP/Vista
SLang is an intelligent story development tool for writers and film-makers which allows the user to create "virtual index cards" of their ideas. Designed for writers who do not yet know which way their story will go, it allows the user to export to the screenwriting software, ScriptMaker, print out their "virtual index cards", stores stories as "events" and "themes", events can be viewed as separate windows, it has some artificial Intelligence features, the whole story can be exported to RTF or TXT, includes an integrated Helpfile and two examples. This is a neat way of randomly expressing ideas and then stitching them together to create a storyline using the "virtual index cards". If you are a budding writer then you could find SLang helpful for ordering your thoughts and for helping to build a cohesive timeline of your story. We liked. Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95. Access this 0.98MB download from: Win98 Text Programs
Alive Directory Uno v2.2 Win98/ME/XP/Vista
Alive Directory Uno is the classic Uno cardgame where you can play against up to 3 computer opponents. It features 3 levels of difficulty, optional hint, optional cheat (displays top card on stack), choose from 5 cardbacks, choice of table color, you can sort colors in your hand or auto-sort, choose from 5 animations (or none), displays game history, and more. This is one of the best computerized Uno cardgames we have seen. It allows you to play against one, two or three computer opponents, and is easy to play. Unfortunately it lacks a Helpfile, even though there is a button on the toolbar labeled "Help". However most people should be able to work out how it plays, even if they have never played this game before, but we have a link to the Wikipedia listing of the original game that includes the rules. Alive Directory Uno offers superb animated graphics and a pleasant playing environment. We loved! Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95.
