Day Clipboard Utility
Review date:June 5, 2009
Version reviewed:2.4.2
NOTE: the review only pertains to the version/date mentioned above. Subsequent versions could be quite different from the reviewed version.
Review:

Day Clipboard Utility is a clip saver that can automatically (or manually) capture and save all text or images, copied through the Windows Clipboard, as TXT or BMP files, and save them using the computer's date & time stamp.

It includes the handy Day Text Converter that converts text to either all uppercase, or all lowercase, plus a little digital clock that shows date and time. It requires no installation and can be run from a USB pen drive.

Day Clipboard Utility should be a number one utility program but its interface is so awkward and hard to use that you sometimes despair and use something else. However, its ability to automatically save text and images in a sub-folder (named "dcu") is terrific.

Just to carry out its base functions is cumbersome and requires some experimentation but, once you have mastered it, Day Clipboard Utility does a credible job of saving your clips into files for later re-use.

A re-think of its interface could improve its usability enormously.

Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95.
