Yankee Clipper III (formerly ‘Yankee Clipper Plus’)
Review date: January 26, 2000
Version reviewed: n/a (see Update below)
NOTE: the review only pertains to the version/date mentioned above. Subsequent versions could be quite different from the reviewed version.
Review:

Yankee Clipper Plus (version 1.91) is a superb Clipboard stacker and manager which saves the last 100 Clipboard entries for instant retrieval.

It also features: can store an unlimited number of boilerplate texts; is URL aware (links copied to clipboard can be instantly launched); has a "Load and Shoot" function to paste text anywhere; can float on top of other applications for fast pasting; no size limits for 'clippings'; prints any clipboard entry (word-wrapped); is a simple program to understand and use; has a global hotkey to make the application visible when hidden; uses hardly any memory/resources; etc.

We have used Yankee Clipper Plus for many years and are pleased to include it amongst our small list of "must have" programs. It is easy to use and includes all the features which we need for a Clipboard manager.

Try it and you will wonder how you ever lived without it!

Update: February 8, 2001

Yankee Clipper III (formerly 'Yankee Clipper Plus') has been updated to version 0.99.8.

This is a total rebuild of this classic utility. The number of items stored has been increased from 100 to 200 and it now saves images which have been 'clipped' (copied to the Clipboard using Ctrl-C or Ctrl-X), RTF (rich text format) and also URLs.

Click on a URL displayed in the YCIII window and your browser will open up that page. Neat.

While we were always happy with the old version, YCIII is streets ahead and it has cemented its position as our most-used utility and the one we are least-likely to live without.

To put it simply: "Get it!"
