Restart Windows is a terrific little utility which does exactly what the name says – it restarts or reboots Windows for you simply, quickly, but with a 5-second safety margin.
We find that many programs grab system resources and memory and don't release them fully when they close. After a few hours of heavy work, system resources reduce to the point where the computer becomes unusable and needs to be rebooted.
We put a shortcut on the desktop so that when we want to restart Windows we just click on the link and then get a 5-second warning before the system restarts (a "warm boot"). If you prefer, you can put this utility into a scheduling program so that you can reboot your computer at a specified time.
There are plenty of Windows rebooting utilities around but this is the one which we use.
Requiring the 32-bit version of the VB4 runtime file, VB40032.DLL, Restart Windows is a great choice as a Windows rebooting utility.
