Heroine Iysayana: Chapter One is a classical Japanese-style 2D RPG (role playing game) set in the crazy world of Byteria where elf party-goer Iysayana must save the kingdom of Ashford from the evil Lord Shadmyr.
It features an excellent, and amusing, storyline, special battle mode, keyboard or joystick controls, good sound effects, and more.
The author says: "...you walk around and explore the land, talk to people, visit shops, explore dungeons, search for treasures and so on. However, you will often encounter monsters you have to fight. Then the game will change to a special turn-based combat screen. If you defeat your foes, your heroes will gain experience and money. At first Iysayana is on her own, but during the adventure other heroes will join your party. The different characters have different abilities, eg one may be a healer and another one a warrior, so make best use of them."
This is a great little RPG which includes a large variety of detail which is combined with an excellent storyline.
We particularly liked the special battle mode where you face the various monsters in one-on-one battle. The graphics are very good and the presentation superb.
Some people may find that parts of this game contain concepts and language which they might not want younger children to see, but it is not "adults only" in the commonly accepted definition of that term. The game contains magic and sorcerers, and the heroine, Iysayana, enjoys party bashes and uses some slang terminology.
That aside, we found Heroine Iysayana: Chapter One to be an excellent RPG and are looking forward to seeing Chapter Two.
