Review:

ppModeler is a 3D modeler that allows editing at the object level.

It features SDS modeling, with sharp edges, symmetrical meshes, blob modeling, 2D/3D curves, 4 texture projectors, procedural texture generated by scripts. morphing & skinning, imports from 3DS, LWO, OBJ, VRML & DXF, exports to POV & RENDERMAN, and more.

This modeler does not render the finished drawing, it relies on programs like PovRay and other 3D renderers to turn the model into a fully rendered image.

Its list of features is immense but, like many similar products, it has a severe learning curve to overcome before you can really create masterpieces.

While it lacks some of the exotic features of the high-end modelers, ppModeler is more than adequate for 95% of all modeling requirements. It includes 7 sample models in native 3DE format so you can learn by experimenting with existing models. There is also an excellent Helpfile.

We were most impressed with ppModeler. It offers a level of power that should exceed the requirements of most users and the only negative (apart from the learning curve) is the lack of built-in 3D rendering.

Grab a copy of ppModeler and be prepared to be impressed, we were!
