Project Planner-PE is a project management tool which allows the tracking of project activities by means of a gantt chart and the cost of a project by means of a cost graph.
It features resource scheduling, the 'critical path' of a program, warnings of cost/time overruns, and more.

Originally called PERT (Program Evaluation & Review Technique) and later Critical Path Analysis, project planning is essential if different types of activities are occurring at the same time, and if some activities must be done before other activities.
LAN enabled (it comes with its own server) SmartWork's Project Planner-PE is a superb program to carry out these tasks. It offers too many features to list here but there is a PDF file at the author's site (210kB) which lists its major functions and features.
We found Project Planner-PE to be easy-to-use yet extremely powerful. The reporting and graphs offered are superb, and it really can help keep a project on target, both cost and timewise. Resource scheduling is an important function of the program like this and it handles that with ease too.
If you are planning on creating a multi-activity project then Project Planner-PE is definitely a tool you need.
