Slide Show

Review:

Slide Show displays all the JPG, BMP, TGA, WMF, PCX, EMF, PCD and PNG images from the directory C:\Erslide as, you guessed it, a slide show.

The program displays the images fullscreen, retaining their perspective, while temporarily altering the screen resolution to 640 x 480 pixels.

Images can be either manually advanced or automatically (every seven seconds – there's no option to change the speed). You can select the next slide, the last slide, or the first slide in the sequence.

Four sample images are included with the package and inserted into the newly created C:\Erslide directory (there is no option to change that directory).

The interface looks reasonably good but the lack of controls (speed of the slide show, etc) detracts from what could be a great program. We could see the logic behind going fullscreen (great for business presentations or public displays) but, again, it would have been nice to have this option offered to us.

The use of 640 x 480 screen resolution could cause problems with 17 inch or larger screens because every little blemish shows up – and this includes the program interface as well as the images themselves.

Overall a worthwhile program and certainly worth a look if you need to display your images as a slide show.
