Email Sentinel Pro is a silent protector (or sentinel) which helps block e-mail viruses and other malicious e-mails.
It converts all e-mails into harmless text, can block e-mail attachments, process messages attached to e-mails, and more. It can also not open or show images, disable nested scripts, and disable HTML forms.
While this is almost the ultimate protection against malicious e-mails, it does mean that to avail yourself of its full protection you will lose all HTML in the e-mails sent to you 99% of which is harmless but which add color and other eye candy. It automatically integrates with MS-Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, IncrediMail, etc so you are covered irrespective of the e-mail client you are using.
Email Sentinel Pro offers a whitelist so you can exclude specific e-mails from being blocked or converted to text and neatly hides away in the desktray (next to the clock) while it works. It also optionally creates a log so you can monitor what is happening with your mail. Cool.
We found Email Sentinel Pro perfect for anyone who is seriously worried about their mail security (specially if they don't trust their anti-virus program) and is a worthwhile utility to leave running in the background all of the time.
However, we were surprised to see that there was no built-in provision to have the program automatically start with Windows. While it is easy to create a shortcut to the Startup folder, many users do not know how to do this. A checkbox indicating that the program can be started automatically when Windows first loads would be a help to those users.
Email Sentinel Pro is an excellent little program and one we liked. However, it should be noted that it is free only for non-commercial use if you use it in a commercial situation you must pay the license fee (which is only fair).
