FirstStop WebSearch is a customizable tool which queries multiple Internet search engines simultaneously.
It offers a random or sequential viewing of results, sorting by columns, saving as XML or HTML file, a keyword history search, etc. You can show twin panes or just a single pane and it also offers filtering of your search result.
The top 100 unique URLs are listed, and include a description so you can find out a little about the site before visiting. If you are worried about dead links, it will even verify a selection of links, or all of them.
FirstStop WebSearch is a worthy tool in the never ending fight to find what you want on the Net. The search filter is an excellent idea and we liked the limitation that only unique addresses are listed – too many programs of this type present you with a huge list of the same URL from varying search engines.
