TaskSwitchXP
Review date:October 6, 2005
Version reviewed:2.0.8
NOTE: the review only pertains to the version/date mentioned above. Subsequent versions could be quite different from the reviewed version.
Review:

TaskSwitchXP is a task management utility that replaces the standard Alt-Tab dialog with previews & powerful task management capabilities.

It features window snapshots as thumbnail previews, is highly configurable, has popup menus & advanced process information, has a multilingual user interface (more than 20 languages), and more.

This is a worthwhile replacement for the Alt-Tab task switcher and adds lots of additional functionality, some nice eye candy, and even thumbnail snapshots of the windows (helpful if you are not sure of the name of the program, or if you are looking at Windows Explorer or an actual program).

It resides as an icon in the desktray (next to the clock) though this icon can be hidden if required (hiding it does not alter the functionality of the program, just the ability to open it without using hotkeys).

We always enjoy programs that help put the power back in the hands of the user and TaskSwitchXP is one such program. Apart from the high degree of configurability, it makes it much easier to switch between open programs than using the Alt-Tab key combo.

A "must have" for all XP users!

Note: we have been advised that this program is not suitable for Windows 95, 98 or ME.
