Review:

Script Defender protects against script-based viruses (such as those sent attached to e-mails, etc) intercepting any request to execute the most common scripting types used in virus attacks, such as Visual Basic Scripting (VBS), Java Script (JS), etc so you have the choice to either run the script or to abort it.

This is an extremely simple program to use. Launch the executionable, set the intercepts (the default ones should cover most problems but more can be added) and then sit back and wait for any script with one of those extensions to try and run on your computer. You are offered a warning window (see below) which gives you the opportunity to abort the script or to allow it to run.

While modern anti-virus programs do a great job, you must reply on the companies which create them to have found the virus attacking you, created a definition for it, and then for you to have downloaded that definition to your computer (we all know where the weak link in this chain is!!!).

Script Defender sits there unseen and unheard until a script tries to run. As long as it has one of the extensions nominated it will be stopped dead by this program until you tell it what to do.

The author's download includes a test VBS script which you can use to check that the system is working.

We consider this an absolutely "must have" utility!
