Space Invaderz is a clone of the well known 'Space Invaders' game originally written by Taito in late 1970s.
It features a terrific '70s look 'n feel (but with more aliens), with multiple levels, choice of fullscreen or 640 x 480 windowed modes, good sound effects & music, and more.
While simple in concept and execution, the original Space Invaders has proven to be one of the most popular game themes ever created and with good reason. Space Invaders was, and still is, highly addictive, even for players experienced in more sophisticated games.
Space Invaderz follows the original concept very closely. The same repetitive sound effects as the invaders mindlessly zig-zag down the screen, the same blockish graphics, and more.
Requiring DirectX 7, Space Invaderz attempts to re-create the addictive fun of the original on a modern computer and it succeeds!
Unfortunately the author has decided not to share with anyone the total number of levels (there are at least 7) or to provide even the most basic Readme file.
With this omission aside, you will find Space Invaderz to be a lot of fun. It does not stretch the mind but you will keep coming back to it time, after time, after...
Lotsa '70s fun.
