Review:

The Line is an unusual arcade-style game where everything is based off a line and you, Wavell, must avoid numerous obstacles & enemies as you run along it trying to escape the Snawaves who will kill you.

Hard to describe, but fun to play, The Line doesn't follow old games made famous in the past but presents a whole new way of looking at arcade games.

The author says: "You are Wavell, the Unexpected Wave, and you want only survive from the destruction of your world. But your world is now become a dangerous place. Energy all over it's flatness created destructive waves, like the Snawaves. Energetic explosions, as line refluxes and bubbles. You are in danger, but you can't return to be a flat line: you must run. So, let's run!!"

An amazing concept, The Line will keep you enthralled for hours as you try and avoid the energy bubbles, the Snawaves, the bolts of energy fired at you, and more.

The game is played in a very small 320x200 window, and uses the arrow keys for movement, the Shift key to pull on the line (and therefore pull flat the Snawaves) and the Crtl key to invert yourself to avoid the energy bolts. The game starts with the Shift key rather than the spacebar or Enter key as expected, but in most other ways it is normal – "normal" as a game of this type can be.

The background music is frenetic and, at times, quite annoying though there is no way of turning it off that we could see.

Defying easy explanation, The Line the worth grabbing just to try it yourself.

We think you'll be as impressed as we were!
